Asset Management
Physical assets represent the real-world structure of your organisation, following the ISA-95 hierarchy. They form the backbone for linking tags and energy data to the right part of your business.
The physical asset hierarchy
Enelyzer follows the ISA-95 (S95) standard structure for modelling business assets. The S95 equipment model defines a hierarchy of logical entities that represent different aspects of production.

Hierarchy Mapping in Enelyzer
Enterprise
Represents an entire company or a division within a company.
In Enelyzer: represented as a Facility.
Site
A physical location of a business unit within the company.
In Enelyzer: represented as a Building.
Area
A physical location within a Site that encapsulates a certain aspect of production.
In Enelyzer: represented by a Building Unit.
Work Centers
Entities below Area, such as Process Cells, Production Units, Production Lines, and Storage Zones.
Groupings of equipment that you want to report on, control, schedule, or otherwise treat as logical entities within an Area.
In energy management applications: ideally each work center contains one or more (energy consumption) sensors.
Work Unit
A smaller logical grouping of equipment for reporting, scheduling, or controlling execution.
In Enelyzer: represented as a Machine Group.
A Machine Group can contain other Machine Groups or Machines. Examples:
A Cooling installation is a Machine Group consisting of different components (compressor, heat exchangers, evaporator).
A Production line can also be a Machine Group, which itself contains other machine groups such as cooling installations in the line.
