Connection using Tele2 SIM

IoT Gateway using mobile communication through Tele2 SIM

Connection APN

Enelyzer has its own APN registered at Tele2, which can be used as the primary APN.

When a secondary APN can be provided, we use the default Tele2 APN as a fallback.

Primary APN: enelyzer.tele2.com

Secondary APN: iot.tele2.com

Supported Data Communication Plans

  • 2G/3G

  • 4G/LTE-M

  • 5G

Features

The primary role of the SIM card is twofold:

  • Identity: The SIM card contains a unique reference number that identifies both the SIM and the subscription that accompanies that SIM card. The mobile network can recognize the reference number and ensure the associated costs incurred are allocated correctly.

  • Authentication: To ensure that the identity is valid, the mobile network uses a security mechanism to allow access to the network. This is achieved by the network issuing a challenge (similar to a security question) that only that particular SIM card can answer from the information it has stored in its memory. Once validated, access to the network is granted.

All IoT SIM cards used for Enelyzer are eUICC (embedded Universal Circuit Card - also referred to as an eSIM) SIMs which stores IMSI, MSISDN and ICCIDs. The eUICC SIM card supports remote SIM provisioning and can enable new operator profiles or change the connectivity provider of the SIM.

Network Design

A VPN with a Site-to-Site connectinon is used (IPsec VPN tunnel). The Tele2 Core Network is connected with the Enelyzer Platform. All traffic generated on and by the mobilde devices will be sent over the IPsec VPN to the Enelyzer platform.
