Consumption Allocation

In this module we are going to link the appropriate tags for each Building Unit and define the repartitioning.

Unit Consumptions

In order to do split billing, all required tags need to be linked to their corresponding building unit.

As a first step, you'll need to select the facility and the energy source you want to link. This can be done at the top of the page:

In the next step, you go to the Details Unit Consumption section. There you'll see all the tags that have a direct link with a Building Unit (as configured in the Assets Module).

You can add additional tags to Building Units, by going to "Link Tag" of the corresponding Building Unit.

Please not that this page contains a Facility filter. If you open the 'Link tag' popup screen, you will only see the tags that are linked to the selected facility.

For each Building Unit, add ALL tags that need to be passed through. This will cover:

  • The meters that are 100% attributable to the Building Unit

  • The meters partially allocated to the Building Unit (such as the consumption of common parts e.g.)

This also means that the common meters will show up at each Building Unit they belong to.

Consumption repartition

Once all tags are linked, it is necessary to set up how they should be distributed. This is done in the "Consumption Repartition" section. Here, you'll find a similar filter for facility and energy source.

A table is displayed containing each tag with the Building Units to which they were linked to. On this location, the distribution key needs to be set.

Consumption Allocation must be entered for each tag by choosing the asset scope and repartition key. Ultimately, the coefficient is calculated based on that.

Asset Scope:

  • Building: You use this for distributions with the frame of reference (totality of consumption) being the building. This means that the properties of the building come into the denominator.

Example: Your building is 100m², your Building Unit is 20m². A tag linked to this Building Unit will be charged 20% (20/100) to this Unit in an surface-based division.

  • Unit: You use this when not using your building as an overall reference Example: A meter hangs on 2 Building Units. Unit 1 has an area of 20m², Unit 2 is 40m². The total building is 100m². With a Unit scope and allocation by surface, 1/3 (20/60) of the consumption will be allocated to Unit 1, and 2/3 (40/60) to Unit 2.

Repartition Key:

This property indicates the basis on which you want to distribute the consumption. Options are:

  • Percentage

  • Volume

  • Surface

  • Quotity

  • Number of people
