Building Units
A building can contain one or more units such as floors, rental units, or components.
Create a Building Unit
To create a building unit, follow a similar approach as when creating a facility.
Define the Building Unit
When creating a building unit, you need to provide:
(Friendly) Name – the commonly used name within the company.
This is the name shown in charts, tables, and reports.
It can be changed later if needed.
Technical name – the unique identifier of the building unit.
Mainly used internally to link with other applications or software.
Link to facility – select the facility the building unit belongs to.
Link to building – select the building this unit is part of.
Optional parameters:
Floor – indicate which floor the unit is located on.
Shared – check this option if your organisation is sharing the unit with others.
Start date / End date – define the validity period of the unit, useful when floor plans change over time.
Once all required fields are filled in, click Create to add the building unit.
Edit a Building Unit
Once a building unit has been created, you can update its information or add properties.
Steps to Edit
Select the building unit you wish to modify from the list.
Click Edit in Unit Information.
On the edit screen, you can update fields created during the initial setup, such as name and floor.
Add or Update Properties
You can enter additional information via Add New Properties (both available in edit screen or in the Building Unit details page). This information is of importance in the Split billing module, for the consumption repartitioning.
Surface – area of the unit.
Volume – volume of the unit.
Quotity – a figure expressing the repartition or division of the building.
Building Unit Occupancy – maximum capacity (persons) of the unit.
Percentage – repartition or distribution key expressed as a percentage.
Active From – the date from which these properties are valid.
