Create a building

A facility can contain one or more buildings.

To create buildings: follow a similar approach as done for the facility.

A building is defined by:

  • Friendly name: this is the name commonly used within the company. This is also the name that will be used everywhere in charts, tables, ... You can always change the friendly name afterwards.

  • Name: this is the unique name for the building. It is not changed afterwards, and is mainly used behind the scenes to create links with other applications or software.

  • Type: Select which type of building it is about. If you do not find the correct type, please contact [email protected].

  • Search address: This field can be compared to the search field for an address from Google Maps. You can search by the name of the business, or specifically by the address. If necessary, complete it there, or in the boxes below.

If you are ready, click on create.

Edit a building

Once the building was created, you can set additional properties. Choose the building you wish to modify from the list at the top, then scroll down and click the Edit button under 'Building Information'.

On this screen you can change the fields you made at creation such as name and type. In addition, you can also enter additional info:

  • Number of floors

  • Owner or proprietor: Which person or corporation owns the building?

  • Responsible: Who is the building manager?

  • Construction year or year of construction: When was the building built?

  • Technical info: info on surface area, volume, building occupancy and/or distribution keys (quotity or percentage).

  • You can also upload a photo of the building on this page.

If you are done, press the Save button at the bottom.

On the overview page of the building, you can also upload plans of the building.

Technical info is of importance in the cost attribution module to allow split billing.
